BUSINESS IMAGING SYSTEMS AWARDED GOVERNMENT CONTRACT FOR
OKLAHOMA STATE AGENCIES, LOCAL MUNICIPALITIES AND SCHOOLS
Department of Human Services Achieving Results Available
to Other State Organizations

Business Imaging Systems, Inc., a provider of document management systems, software and consulting services, today announced that it has established a contract with the State of Oklahoma. The state contract stipulates that Business Imaging Systems is the state's preferred provider of document imaging and content management products and services. It is effective immediately and includes all state agencies, counties, school districts, local municipalities and higher education institutions as authorized users.

Under this contract, all projects implemented by Business Imaging Systems include assessment, development, implementation and ongoing service of advanced technology to capture, organize, retrieve and distribute data. The company offers end-to-end solutions that include document and check processing hardware, software and services.
Business Imaging Systems develops their own data capture, document management and data distribution tools, marketed under their MasterScan and Mobilis Professional brands. The company is also a reseller of document scanners from Bell+Howell, Canon and Kodak; check scanners from Canon, Digital Check and Seac Banche; document and content management software from Kofax and LEGATO; and handwriting recognition software from A2iA; as well as a variety of other products from leading manufacturers.
The company's client roster already includes Oklahoma State University, the University of Oklahoma and the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services, as well as numerous commercial organizations, such as Tulsa Teachers Credit Union and UICI.
The State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Office of Administrative Hearings, selected Business Imaging Systems last year as their provider of an automated court case file processing solution. The agency prepares approximately 3,000 child support court case files for dockets each month. Using the old system, paper files were pulled and mailed to 30 child support offices across the state.
Business Imaging Systems provided a complete document imaging, storage, retrieval and management solution for the Office of Administrative Hearings. Today, each case file is imaged, automatically indexed and made available online for use by central office staff, remote child support offices and the judges involved in each case. The new system is run on Canon scanners and software developed by LEGATO and Business Imaging Systems.
All procedural inefficiencies have been reduced or eliminated. Through imaging, automation and real-time data retrieval, they have increased productivity in the central operations office and in the field. Furthermore, they have eliminated significant postage costs and improved customer service. According to Virginia Smith and Chief Judge Carol Koger at the Department of Human Services, "The system has been an invaluable, user-friendly tool that has so many functions that we virtually run our court on it."
This implementation gained recognition from Business Solutions, an industry trade publication that presented Business Imaging Systems with a Channel Connection Award for the Most Innovative Government Installation at AIIM Expo 2004. Earlier this month, the Department of Human Services also received the Governor's Award from the State of Oklahoma for the case management solution implemented.
